Ro Shapes Tickle is an emerging composer, performer and rabbit. Her musical output is roving and personal, joyful and disconcerting, focusing on stories, fragments, environments and memory. Ro frequently centres close personal relationships within her music-making process.

Ro composes concert music for solo performers, small and large instrumental ensembles and voice, and produces soundtracks and electronic music. It also performs in solo and group settings, incorporating alto sax, live electronics and spoken word, across far-reaching traditions, influences and practices including electronic dance music, noise, sound art, performance art, ritual, spoken word, BDSM practices and visual slapstick. Ro is founder and co-facilitator of the electronic-dramaturgical improvisatory collective MASSIVE NUN, and co-director of Hispid ensemble

A 2025 Britten Pears CAPPA Young Artist and 2024 RNCM Gold Medal finalist, Ro recently completed her MMus in Composition with Musicology at the Royal Northern College of Music, with financial support from the Vaughan Williams Foundation.

Ro is based in Manchester. When not making music, they can be found drinking tea or napping.
